YGGGL and Ysgol Gynradd Llanhari’s New Climbing Walls

Ysgol Gynradd Llanhari’s pupils had a nice surprise waiting for them as they entered their playing area this week when they were faced with their new play apparatus – a bouldering wall specifically designed for kids!

Richard Jones from Ysgol Gynradd Llanhari’s PTA approached us here at 4matix to build the wall having seen our previous work at Ysgol Llantrisant.

The wall at Llanhari has been a huge success with the kids already! Molly, a pupil in year 3, has said that “its really fun and the only thing is… everyone wants to play on it!”

4matix’ director, Mark and workshop legend, Steve, are both keen climbers with years of experience. For Mark, the projects at both Llantrisant and Llanhari were brilliant:

“As a climbing enthusiast, a project like this is huge fun. From buying the materials, putting the whole thing together and having a climb on it to test its strength and durability (of course!), the whole thing from start to finish is great.”

For Steve, the projects were some of the most positive experiences of his life. When asked if he’d enjoyed putting everything together he said:

“It was alright, aye.”
